Pens goto Toronto to square of against the Maple Leafs
Pittsburgh Penguins (27-17-1-55) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (15-21-9-39)

The Penguins will start their road trip tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs whom haven't been exactly great this season even after getting their big summer acquisition Phil Kessel into the lineup in November, but they did manage to get one from the Pens on Dec. 27th. The Penguins whom are currently stuck in a rut that doesn't seem to have an end in sight will be looking for some sort of glimmer from their stars tonight and try and pick up a win from a easily beatable team.

Well That Was Pretty Much Embarassing

Penguins VS Flyers
4 7

The score fest that was last night's game against the Flyers turned into a shit show early in the second when the Flyers took a 5-2 goal lead over the Penguins which forced the Pens out of their game if they weren't already there. Speaking of Penguin hockey I haven't seen the Pens dominate any one team recently like they were at the start of the year, maybe this grueling schedule leading up to the Olympics and 2 consecutive short summers are starting to catch up with them. Whatever the case the Penguins have been struggling to keep up with teams that are below them. As for last nights game the Penguins looked pretty good for the most part but the Flyers just wanted the win more than the Pens did.

The Penguins meet the Flyers for the 4th time this season tonight and look to run their record to 4-0 on the season against the Flyers. Both teams are coming off victories the Pens defeated the Thrashers on Tuesday and the Flyers dealt a spanking to the Maple Leafs tonight. The Flyers are struggling this season to pick up wins especially since starting goaltender Ray Emery went down with injury.

Penguins VS Thrashers

I didn't see the game last night and have yet to even watch the highlights so I have no idea what happened beyond Staal scoring 2 goals and the score of the game.

Game Day #44 Thrashers Preview

Tue, 05 Jan 2010 18:32:21 EDTby: PensNation

Penguins meet the Thrashers tonight inside Mellon Arena
Pittsburgh Penguins (26-16-1-53) vs. Atlanta Thrashers (18-17-6-42)

The Atlanta Thrashers come to Pittsburgh tonight for the first time this season, the two clubs are meeting for the second time this season the first was in Atlanta on November 21 where the Pens prevailed 3-2. The Penguins will look a little different this time around as they will have several defenseman this game that they didn't for the last due to injury Letang, McKee, and Goligoski were all out. The Pens will hit the ice with some different line combos as Kunitz was put on the shelf today, look for Luca Caputi to assume the wing position on the Malkin line where Kunitz has been residing recently, Gonchar is still out no word on when he will return. Also look for Brent Johnson in net tonight as Fleury will be getting the night off as he has played in 36 of the teams 43 games already this season which would put him on pace for an astounding 69 games in the regular season not to mention whatever games he plays in the Olympics.
