The Penguins continued their winning ways last night with a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Even though Evgeni Malkin played a rather suttle role last night the Pens were able to dominate the lowly Bolts only allowing 1 goal on a pretty slick one-timer from Vaclav Prospal.

1st Period
After being put on waivers earlier in the day Miro Satan came out and played with more urgency than we have seen from him all year. Things started to heat up 3 minutes in, when Steven Stamkos almost gave Satan a gifted wrapped present and an early goal. It didn't take much longer for the Penguins to get on the board when Tyler Kennedy threw a wrister towards the net and Chris Kunitz found the rebound and put it in 1-0 Penguinos. The Bolts goal came on a 2-on-1 with Prospal and Lecavalier against Brooks Orpik, Lecavalier made the motion as if he was going to shoot the puck only to pass it to a wide open Paclav Prospal for the goal 1-1. All good things must come to an end as Prospal goes to the box for unsportsman's like conduct, this set up the second goal of the night for Chris Kunitz on the PowerPlay 2-1 Pens.

2nd Period
Godard decides he want to kick Koci's ass for hurting Gonchar in the preseason, a couple punches are landed before Koci pulls him to the ice, let's just call this one a draw leaning towards God.
After the fight things bounce back and fourth with the Pens staying in control at around the 7 minute mark Cooke and Dupuis play hot potato with the puck until Ramo is so confussed that Cookiie can dish one over his glove for the goal 3-1 Pens. Towards the end of the period Pettinger tries to get so retribution on Cooke for not so scary Gary Roberts who cried after he was sent to the box for punching Cookie in the head during the last meeting between the two teams, but all it did was cost Pettinger 2 minutes in the box. And we got to find out that Cooke and Pettinger were traded for eachother at last years trade deadline.
During the second intermission we find out that Marian Hossa was taken off the ice on a stretcher after taking a head first dive into the wall. Doctors said there was no serious injuries and he will most likely be able to play this weekend after they run some tests.
3rd Period
The third period was pretty lame it consisted mostly of the Lightning trying to get back into the game and Fleury shut down the game with save after save. There were some good rushes by the Penguins but nothing turned into point even the empty netter shot that Fedotenko ricocheted off the side of the net. Game over Pens win 3-1.
What we saw in this game:
- Fleury is starting to look like his old self after a rough year and a rough start in the Dan Bylsma era.
- Miro Satan played like he was going to be out of work if he didn't but still came up scoreless on the scoresheet even though he had some quality chances.
- Chris Kunitz = Amazing.
- If the Pens keep Staal I think they should keep the Kunitz-Staal-Kennedy line together they are on fire.
- The Penguins are now tied with the Rangers for 7th place.
