The Penguins continued their road trip and their winning ways last night in Florida to continue their win streak which currently sits at 5 games. The game started out slow but soon began to pick up as the Penguins began to wear down the Panthers towards the end of the 2nd period and into the 3rd. I missed some of the final frame but I am going give it my best shot on this recap.

1st Period
The first period was pretty slow there were some great scoring chances for both teams. While on one end Tomas Vokoun was making things look easy, on the other end Marc-Andre Fleury practically had to stand on his head to make so incredible saves to keep the Penguins in the game. At this point I was prepared for a repeat performance of the January 3rd game, but after the period ended with a 0-0 tie my hopes of a Penguin win began to grow.

2nd Period
This is when the fun all started. The Panthers started out with 21 seconds on the power play from the Dupuis hooking penalty. Penalty killed. The Pens would then goto work on Vokoun, a couple minutes in Guerin scorches one towards the net, Vokoun made the save but gave up a big rebound to Corsby, but before he could get a whack at it Campbell slashes him and breaks his stick. This would go on for the majority of the period until the end of the second when the Panthers were working the puck around Fleury and in an attempt to block the shot with his stick and cover it up the puck gets flipped up in the air and bounces off Flowers glove into the net. Panthers go up 1-0. Not to be out done 24 seconds later Guerin backhands a pass towards Crosby streaking through the neutral zone, he does that patented split the defenders thing he does so well and nails a slapper behind Vokoun.
3rd Period
It only took 2 minutes for Kennedy to get the magic going when he blasted a slapper towards the glove side of Vokoun 2-1 Pens. Shortly there after Letang is chilling out by the point when he fakes a slapper and get Campbell to bite hard into slide, Tanger then blasts a wrister by Vokoun for the 3-1 Penguins lead, boy this is starting to get ugly.

The Panthers calmed things down for the next 10 minutes. Then Mr. Energizer TK came out takes a pass from Malkin and puts it in the net for the 4-1 Penguin lead. Woooooo revenge is sweet.

The Penguins go on the power play with 1:17 left and as Kennedy tries to skate off the ice Malkin tells him to stay on the ice he getting the hat trick. But Vokoun has other plans and denies Kennedy's attempt game over 4-1 Penguins.
